NASA To Release Awaiting UFO Report

NASA is poised to release the findings of a long-awaited investigation into strange flying objects in Earth’s skies on Thursday.

The US space agency revealed last year that it was investigating data involving unidentified abnormal phenomena, or UAPs, which has supplanted the term ‘UFO’ in official language.

The public has long been captivated by issues, but mainstream science has avoided it.

In May, an independent team of 16 researchers published their preliminary findings, concluding that available data and eyewitness accounts are insufficient to draw clear conclusions and advocating for greater systematic collection of high-quality data.

It’s unclear that Thursday’s report would change that conclusion, but it might pave the way for the agency to embark on a new mission.

While NASA’s probes and rovers scan the solar system for ancient microorganism fossils and astronomers search for hints of sophisticated civilizations on faraway worlds, its historical stance has been to debunk sightings on Earth.

Over the course of 27 years, more than 800 events have been gathered, with two to five percent believed to be potentially unusual, according to the report’s authors at the May meeting.

According to team member Nadia Drake, these are things that are not readily understandable by the operator or the sensor, or something that is doing something strange.

In recent years, the US government has begun to take the issue of UAPs more seriously, owing in part to worries that they are linked to foreign spying.

NASA’s work, which depends on declassified information, is distinct from a Pentagon investigation, though the two are collaborating on how to use scientific tools and methodologies.

In July, a former US intelligence official made headlines when he told a congressional committee that the government absolutely believes it had unexplained abnormal phenomena as well as remains of their alien controllers.

David Grusch told lawmakers, “My testimony is based on information I’ve been given by individuals with a longstanding track record of legitimacy and service to this country — many of whom also shared compelling evidence in the form of photography, official documentation, and classified oral testimony”.

The reported bodies of two non-human individuals were shown earlier this week during a congressional session in Mexico, eliciting a combination of surprise, disbelief, and contempt on social media.

Jaime Maussan, a controversial Mexican journalist and researcher reported the finding of purported mummified bones in Peru in 2017 and carried them with him.
