A multi-party Indian Parliamentary delegation, led by MP Supriya Sule, commenced its official visit to South Africa with an interaction with the Indian community in Johannesburg, underlining India’s united commitment to combat terrorism in all its forms.
Taking to X, the Indian High Commission in South Africa posted, “All-party delegation led by Hon’ble MP @supriya_sule interacted with Indian community in South Africa. They emphasized India’s national consensus and collective resolve against terrorism in all its forms. Commended the wholehearted support of Indian diaspora to eradicate the scourge of terrorism.”

This meeting marked the delegation’s first engagement in the country.
In a press release issued by the High Commission of India in Pretoria, the delegation conveyed India’s firm stance on cross-border terrorism, reinforcing its policy of zero tolerance while ensuring regional stability remains unaffected.
The delegation also informed the diaspora about Operation Sindoor, India’s recent calibrated response to a terror incident, which reflects the country’s firm yet restrained approach to national security.
The MPs highlighted the longstanding threat of terrorism supported by established infrastructures and urged the international community to end the practice of distinguishing between terrorists and their backers.
Earlier in the day, High Commissioner Shri Prabhat Kumar received the delegation and provided a detailed overview of India-South Africa relations and the forthcoming engagements.
Cape Town Meetings Scheduled For 28 May
On 28 May (Wednesday), the delegation will continue its official programme in Cape Town, where meetings are scheduled with members of the South African Parliament and senior government officials.
The delegation comprises a cross-section of Parliamentarians: Supriya Sule, Rajiv Pratap Rudy, Vikramjeet Singh Sahney, Manish Tewari, Anurag Singh Thakur, Lavu Sri Krishna Devarayalu, Anand Sharma (former Minister of Commerce & Industry), V Muraleedharan (former Minister of State for External Affairs), and Syed Akbaruddin (former Permanent Representative of India to the United Nations).
