Indian Delegation Arrives In Brussels With Unified Message After UK Visit

An Indian Parliamentary delegation, led by BJP Member of Parliament Ravi Shankar Prasad, arrived in Brussels on Tuesday evening as part of a three-day visit under India’s international diplomatic outreach, ‘Operation Sindoor’.

The campaign seeks to build global consensus against Pakistan-sponsored cross-border terrorism following the Pahalgam terror attack in April 2025.

The delegation was welcomed by Indian Ambassador to the European Union, Belgium and Luxembourg, Saurabh Kumar.

The Indian Embassy posted on social media platform X, highlighting the delegation’s agenda of reinforcing India’s message with unity and clarity on the global stage.

The Brussels stop marks the final leg of an extensive diplomatic tour that included France, Italy, Denmark, and the United Kingdom.

In addition to Ravi Shankar Prasad, the delegation includes BJP MPs Daggubati Purandeswari, Samik Bhattacharya, Ghulam Ali Khatana, Congress MP Amar Singh, Shiv Sena-UBT MP Priyanka Chaturvedi, former Union Minister MJ Akbar, and former Ambassador Pankaj Saran.

The visit is part of India’s broader initiative to engage parliamentary allies worldwide in combating terrorism and promoting democratic values.

Productive UK Visit

Before arriving in Brussels, the delegation wrapped up a four-day visit to the UK.

Key highlights included a meeting with Speaker of the House of Commons Lindsay Hoyle, who condemned terrorism and expressed solidarity with India over the Pahalgam terror attack.

The delegation addressed media at India House in London, stressing India’s zero-tolerance for terrorism and urging global accountability on terror financing.

The delegation participated in a comprehensive meeting with the All Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) on India at the UK Parliament.

Baroness Verma, the APPG President, formally welcomed the group, while Co-Chairs Lord Karan Bilimoria and MP Jeevun Sandher expressed deep sympathy and solidarity with India.

Several current and former UK MPs also joined the session, reflecting widespread bipartisan support.

The Indian delegation highlighted Operation Sindoor as a decisive step in India’s counter-terrorism strategy, underscoring diplomatic transparency and concrete action against terror networks.

Ravi Shankar Prasad described terrorism as a “cancer” that the global community must confront collectively during his remarks on the UK visit

He stressed the importance of scrutinising Pakistan’s misuse of international funds and praised India’s bipartisan unity in confronting terrorism.

He also noted the growing international awareness of India’s democratic approach and its moral authority in the global fight against state-sponsored terrorism.

In Brussels, the Indian delegation is expected to hold meetings with key European Union representatives and members of the European Parliament.

These interactions aim to enhance strategic cooperation and strengthen India’s position as a global advocate for peace, security, and rule-based international order.

With ‘One Mission, One Message, One India’ as its core message, the visit seeks to underline India’s firm resolve and collective political will in tackling terrorism at all diplomatic forums.
