Indian Casualty Reported In Kuwait Strike Amid Escalating Conflict

An Indian worker was killed in a strike carried out by Iran on a power and water desalination facility in Kuwait early on Monday, according to official sources.

The incident has pushed the number of Indian nationals killed in the ongoing West Asia conflict to at least eight.

Kuwait’s Ministry of Electricity and Water confirmed the attack in a post on X, stating that it caused significant damage to a service building at the facility.

The ministry condemned the strike as an act of aggression and confirmed that the deceased employee was an Indian national.

Authorities swiftly deployed emergency and technical teams to the site, managed the situation, contained the damage, and ensured operations continued without major disruption.

Officials emphasised the priority of safeguarding electricity and water infrastructure, actively working to prevent further risks and maintain uninterrupted services.

The latest fatality follows a recent incident in the United Arab Emirates, where debris from an intercepted missile over Abu Dhabi struck and killed another Indian national.

The Indian Embassy had assured full support and assistance to those affected.

Following a government review last week, authorities confirmed seven Indian deaths and one missing person linked to the conflict. Monday’s development has further increased the toll.

The conflict, now in its fifth week, began after coordinated strikes by the United States and Israel on Iran, triggering wider regional tensions.

Since then, Iran has launched retaliatory drone and missile attacks targeting Israel and Gulf nations hosting US military installations, resulting in casualties and extensive damage to critical infrastructure across the region.
