Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday said India has transformed from being a consumer of global solutions into a contributor of solutions for the world, underscoring the country’s growing role in innovation, technology and entrepreneurship.
Speaking after inaugurating the ‘Bharat Innovates 2026’ event in Nice, France, PM Modi said India’s innovation ecosystem is expanding rapidly and is increasingly helping address global challenges through technological advancements and startup-driven solutions.
“India now acts as a solution contributor rather than a solution consumer,” the Prime Minister said.
PM Modi and French President Emmanuel Macron jointly inaugurated the event, which brought together startups, venture capital funds, innovators and technology leaders from India, France and several other countries.
Highlighting India’s innovation-driven growth, the Prime Minister said the country is creating solutions at both speed and scale while focusing on sustainability and global impact.
The Prime Minister stressed that India’s approach to technological development is guided by the principle of ‘technology for humanity’ and centred on human needs.
PM Modi also described innovation as an inherent part of the country’s culture and mindset.
“Innovation is in India’s DNA,” Prime Minister Modi explained.
PM Modi praised the strengthening partnership between India and France, calling it a relationship built on shared values, mutual trust and common interests. He noted that bilateral cooperation spans diverse sectors, including strategic affairs, security, sustainability and innovation.
“India-France partnership covers security to sustainability,” the Prime Minister said.
French President Emmanuel Macron described PM Modi’s presence at the event as a matter of great honour for France. He also congratulated the Prime Minister on completing 12 years as India’s leader and commended his efforts in deepening ties between the two nations.
The ‘Bharat Innovates 2026’ event serves as a platform for collaboration among innovators, investors and technology leaders from across the globe.
