Prime Minister Narendra Modi and UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan held a bilateral meeting on the sidelines of the G7 Summit in Evian, France, where they reviewed the progress of India-UAE relations and discussed ways to further strengthen their Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.
Following the meeting, PM Modi described his interaction with the UAE President as productive and reaffirmed the strong bonds between the two nations. He thanked Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed and the UAE government for their continued support and care for the large Indian community living in the Emirates.
The meeting marked the third interaction between the two leaders in 2026, underlining the strength and dynamism of the India-UAE partnership.
PM Modi and his counterpart reviewed the significant progress achieved in bilateral cooperation across a range of sectors, including technology, trade, investment, energy and defence.
The leaders assessed developments since President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed’s visit to India in January and PM Modi’s visit to the UAE in May. They welcomed the growing momentum in bilateral engagement and explored opportunities to further expand cooperation in areas of mutual interest.
In addition to discussing economic and strategic ties, the two leaders exchanged views on regional and global developments. They emphasised the importance of dialogue, diplomacy and adherence to international law in promoting lasting peace, security and stability in West Asia.
