US President Donald Trump will hold bilateral discussions with Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday on the sidelines of the G7 Summit in Evian, France, focusing on strengthening economic and strategic cooperation between the two countries.

The meeting will take place ahead of a working lunch attended by G7 leaders, outreach partner nations and leading technology executives.

According to officials, the discussions will cover a wide range of issues, including trade, economic growth, supply chain resilience, artificial intelligence, investment partnerships and global security challenges.

Earlier, PM Modi and President Trump briefly interacted and exchanged greetings during the G7 outreach session in Evian.

The two leaders shook hands and held a short conversation ahead of the session on ‘Forging New Partnerships and Rebuilding International Solidarity’, which brought together G7 members, partner countries and representatives of global financial institutions.

The White House confirmed that the bilateral meeting will take place before the leaders join the working lunch, which will also include discussions with global technology industry executives.

Upon his arrival in Evian, PM Modi expressed optimism about engaging with world leaders and discussing key global priorities. He stated that India remains committed to advancing collective efforts for a sustainable and prosperous future.

The 52nd G7 Summit, being held from June 15 to 17, has invited India as a partner country.

PM Modi is attending outreach sessions at the G7 Summit, marking India’s 13th participation and his seventh consecutive appearance.

The MEA said India’s presence reflects its growing role in global issues, while consistently representing the priorities of the Global South at forums like the G20.

The upcoming PM Modi–Trump talks will strengthen India–US ties in technology, economic resilience and global security.
