External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar has urged countries with shared international objectives to work together against threats, disruptions and vulnerabilities affecting global stability.
Speaking at the Partners for Multilateralism, International Law, Peace and Prosperity (P4M) Summit at the United Nations on Monday, Jaishankar said countries should encourage de-risking and diversification when they face threats to key choke points, dominance and supply chains.
Jaishankar co-chaired the summit with European Council President Antonio Costa, stressing stronger multilateral cooperation amid geopolitical tensions and conflicts.
He called for joint action on security, climate, technology, counter-terrorism, supply chains and disaster preparedness.
Jaishankar also highlighted the global ‘4F crises’ involving fuel, food, fertiliser and finance, saying they strengthened the case for international frameworks and safeguards.

He called for ‘reformed multilateralism’ based on wider participation in deliberations and greater transparency in decision-making.
He also stressed that adherence to international law, rules and norms remains essential to strengthening multilateral institutions.
Separately, Jaishankar met European Union and Indo-Pacific foreign ministers to discuss cooperation and international developments.
He said the discussions covered India-EU cooperation, multilateral issues and developments in the Gulf, Ukraine and the Indo-Pacific.
Australian Foreign Minister Penny Wong and South Korean Foreign Minister Cho Hyun were among the Indo-Pacific representatives who attended the meeting.
Jaishankar’s engagements came amid discussions at the UN on strengthening international cooperation and addressing shared global challenges.
