Donald Trump and Melania Trump have arrived at the White House, where they were greeted by outgoing President Joe Biden and First Lady Jill Biden ahead of the inauguration ceremony. Trump will take the oath of office as the 47th President of the United States on Monday at 10:30 PM IST, inside the Rotunda of the US Capitol.
Traditionally held on the Capitol’s West Lawn, the swearing-in ceremony has been moved indoors due to the forecast of frigid weather. Alongside Trump, incoming Vice President JD Vance will also take the oath of office.
In his inaugural address, Trump is expected to lay out his agenda for the next four years, with a focus on sweeping executive actions covering immigration, energy policy, and tariffs. These actions, which Trump has promised to sign immediately after taking the oath, signal his intention to assert strong executive authority, enforce strict immigration policies, and reshape America’s role on the global stage.
