Death Toll From Unprecedented Bangladesh Flood Rises To 67

Nearly 6 million people have been affected by the floods, which have hit 11 of the country’s 64 districts

Dhaka, Sep 2: Floods in Bangladesh, primarily caused by upstream waters, have claimed 67 lives, including six women and 18 children, according to the National Disaster Response Coordination Center. The worst-affected districts are Feni, Cumilla, and Noakhali, where 54 deaths have occurred amid ongoing severe flooding.

Nearly 6 million people have been affected by the floods, which have hit 11 of the country’s 64 districts. The floods have caused extensive damage to life, property, and crops. The latest reports show that 605,767 people remain stranded in southeastern and northeastern districts.

Response and Relief Efforts

Floodwaters are reportedly receding in several southeastern districts. Authorities have deployed disaster response teams to conduct rescue operations, distribute relief materials, and oversee shelters for those affected by the floods.
