Eleven people have died, and 13 others have been injured after a rental bus lost control and crashed into a crowd of students and adults at the gate of a middle school in Tai’an City, Shandong Province, on Tuesday morning.
The accident occurred at 7:27 a.m. when the bus, which was being used to transport students, veered off course and collided with pedestrians on the roadside, according to police in Dongping County.

Among the injured, one person remains in critical condition, while the others are reported to be stable. The bus driver has been detained, and authorities are currently investigating the cause of the crash.
This incident follows a similar tragedy on March 20 of this year, when a passenger bus in Shanxi Province collided with a tunnel wall, resulting in 14 fatalities and 37 injuries.
Speeding, dangerous driving, poorly maintained vehicles, and driver fatigue are commonly cited factors in serious traffic accidents in China.
