Bhutan Stands With India: Mass Prayers For Delhi Blast Victims

King Druk Gyalpo, the Bhutanese monarch, led prayers on Tuesday at Changlimethang Stadium in Thimphu for the victims of the Delhi car blast, which took place near the Red Fort Metro Station on Monday evening.

Thousands of Bhutanese citizens gathered to join the ceremony, expressing their condolences and solidarity with India during this difficult time.

The blast claimed the lives of at least eight people and left dozens injured, leaving the nation in shock.

The Bhutanese leadership extended heartfelt sympathies to the families affected by the tragedy.

PM Modi’s Assurance

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on a two-day visit to Bhutan, addressed the gathering at Changlimethang Stadium, highlighting the deep spiritual and cultural bond shared between India and Bhutan.

“Today is a very important day for Bhutan, for the Bhutanese royal family, and for all who believe in world peace. India and Bhutan have shared a deep spiritual and cultural bond for centuries. And therefore, it was India’s and my commitment to participate in this important occasion,” PM Modi stated.

The Prime Minister also assured that Indian agencies would uncover the full conspiracy behind the Delhi blast.

“Today, I come here with a very heavy heart. The horrific incident that took place in Delhi yesterday evening has deeply saddened everyone. I understand the grief of the affected families. Today, the entire nation stands with them. Our agencies will get to the bottom of this conspiracy. The conspirators behind this will not be spared. All those responsible will be brought to justice,” he added.

Investigation Underway

Delhi Police have intensified their investigation into the blast, analysing over 100 CCTV clips to trace the suspect vehicle’s movements.

Preliminary footage shows the white Hyundai i20 car parked near the Red Fort Metro Station at 3:19 PM, remaining for nearly three hours before moving at 6:48 PM, a time of heavy crowd presence.

Investigators are mapping its full route, from origin to the Red Fort and beyond, to identify the perpetrators.

Police have registered a case under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) Sections 16 and 18, the Explosives Act, and relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).

The prayers led by Bhutan’s King, attended by thousands of citizens, symbolise the strong friendship and support between Bhutan and India.

In this gesture of international solidarity, Bhutanese citizens and leadership stood united with India, offering prayers for the victims and their families, reaffirming shared values of peace and compassion.
