America Committed To Partnering With India On Energy Security And Economic Growth: US Embassy Official

Xiabing Feng on Tuesday reiterated US support for India’s energy security and economic growth through quality exports.

Amidst global geopolitical and supply chain disruptions, Xiabing Feng, Principal Commercial Officer at the US Embassy in India, reaffirmed America’s commitment to collaborating with India in exporting high-quality products and services to help the country achieve energy security and economic growth on Tuesday.

Speaking at the ‘3rd Energy Summit of the Indo-American Chamber of Commerce’ in New Delhi, Feng stressed that cooperation between the two nations could drive transformative change in the global energy sector.

“As we look into the future, the United States remains committed to working with India through the export of high-quality world-class products and services, to help India achieve its goals of energy security and economic growth,” she said.

Highlighting India’s energy goals, Feng said the US could be a key partner in the oil, gas, and nuclear power sectors. She noted that the global energy landscape is undergoing a profound transformation due to geopolitical instability, market uncertainties, and supply chain disruptions.

These challenges, she said, expose vulnerabilities and highlight the urgent need for secure and reliable energy systems.

The senior US official, however, pointed out that America could serve as a major supplier of oil and liquefied natural gas to India.

Referring to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to the US, she recalled that both PM Modi and US President Donald Trump reaffirmed their commitment as leading energy consumer and producer nations. The two leaders agreed to strengthen their bilateral partnership on energy security, covering oil, gas, and nuclear cooperation.

American Expertise to Support India’s Energy Security

Feng underlined that the United States and India share a common vision of diversifying energy resources and strengthening energy infrastructure.

“By leveraging American expertise in natural gas, nuclear energy, and emerging technologies, the United States can support India’s ambitious goals for energy security and grid modernisation,” she said.

She added that US companies are ready not only to export products but also to collaborate with Indian firms in areas related to energy security, grid modernisation, and sustainable infrastructure development.

Feng emphasised that India and the United States, working together, could shape the global energy markets and contribute to building resilient, sustainable, and secure energy systems for the future.
