A Massive Fire Broke Out In Sydney Building

On Thursday, more than 100 firefighters battled towering flames and dense smoke from a seven-story blaze in central Sydney, which the fire service warned was spreading.

In a statement, Fire and Rescue NSW said, “The building is starting to collapse, while the inferno is beginning to spread to several neighboring buildings, including residential apartments”.

As the structure burned orange with flames, the entire top floor wall toppled over and crashed in chunks into the street below, a fire service video showed.

Water was thrown down the building, and all of its windows were ignited by flames.

A charred van carcass was parked in front.

Images shared on social media showed flames soaring almost as high as the skyscraper itself into the sky.

According to emergency services, more than 100 firefighters, and 20 fire trucks were working to contain and extinguish the blaze on Randle Street near the city’s Central Station.

“The public is urged to avoid the area while firefighting operations continue”, said the fire department, as the sound of emergency vehicle sirens echoed through the downtown streets.
