Shortest Woman And Tallest Man
In a heartwarming reunion after six years, Sultan Kosen from Turkey and Jyoti Amge from India, the world’s tallest and shortest individuals respectively, shared a delightful breakfast in California. The heartening meeting, reported by The Independent, marked a significant reunion since their last encounter in 2018 during a photo shoot in Egypt.
Their striking height difference of over six feet once again captivated the world as they posed together, with images of their reunion quickly going viral on social media platforms. In one snapshot, Ms. Amge stands next to Mr. Kosen’s shoe, barely reaching its height, while in another, despite being seated on a chair, she only reaches his shoulder.
According to Guinness World Records, Sultan Kosen, towering enough to reach a basketball hoop without jumping, claimed the title of the world’s tallest living man in 2009, surpassing China’s Xi Shun, who stood at 7 feet 9 inches. Additionally, Kosen holds the record for the largest hand on a living person, measuring 11.2 inches from wrist to middle fingertip. His remarkable height is attributed to pituitary gigantism, a medical condition.
Kosen’s journey has been one of resilience and transformation. Denied a regular education due to his condition and discouraged from pursuing basketball, he initially led a life as a farmer to support his family. However, his life took a remarkable turn in 2009 when he was officially recognized as the tallest man on Earth, a moment he fondly describes as his rebirth.

Over the subsequent decade, Kosen’s life saw significant improvements, notably with free life-saving surgery to halt his ceaseless growth. A tumor had damaged his pituitary gland, leading to excessive production of growth hormone. Interestingly, his extraordinary growth spurt did not commence until he reached the age of 10.
