The expensive iPhones are frequently viewed as a status symbol in India, and the average person cannot afford to spend so much money on a phone. Recently, ‘Experiment King’ on Instagram ran a social experiment to test how store owners would respond if a beggar went up to buy an iPhone.
In the video, a man posing as a beggar is shown touring Jodhpur mobile dealerships with a bag full of cash in order to buy an iPhone 15. His ripped clothing supposedly prevented him from entering certain mobile stores, but many of them also wouldn’t accept the money as payment. But eventually, one store consented to accept his unusual payment method. The man is then seen delivering the shopkeeper and his staff the contents of the sack after emptying it on the ground. Later in the video, the store owners can be seen counting the coins. After that, the beggar examines and poses with the iPhone Pro Max. In addition, he poses for a photo with the business owner as other people look noticeably startled.
The video has received several likes and comments, along with over 34 million views since being shared. While some users enjoyed the trial, others were touched by the mobile store employees’ kind response.
It’s staged; no other beggar today looks like him, a user commented.
An additional person said, “An entertaining and thought-provoking experiment, hahaha.”
One more person said, “This experiment is truly epic, my friend.”
A fifth person added, “Don’t judge a book by its cover,” and a fourth person said, “Respect customers; let it be anyone.” Another person chimed in, saying, “The shopkeepers should learn to respect
their customers, let it be anyone, poor, rich, or beggar.”
