US Plane makes emergency landing
Both passengers and airline staff can become frightened at the mere suspicion of a bomb threat. A similar event happened on a Copa Airlines flight that was originally headed from Panama City to Tampa, having to return for an investigation due to a possible bomb threat after only about an hour in the air. It was eventually figured out that the plane didi an emergency landing over a very normal thing.
Suspicious object on plane leads to emergency landing
On Friday, a Copa Airlines flight from Panama City’s Tocumen International Airport was en route to Tampa, Florida when it received information about a suspicious device in one of the aircraft’s lavatories. The plane made its way back to Panama, where it was pointed to a remote tarmac. All 144 passengers were then evacuated, and the aircraft was carefully inspected by an anti-explosives crew. However, after a thorough investigation by the security personnel at Tocumen International Airport in Panama City, it was discovered that the alleged explosive was only an adult diaper.

“We had it on a secure runway where police special explosives canine units and special forces examined the object and found it to be an adult diaper, ruling out any risk,” Jose Castro, the head of the airport’s security team, said. According to The New York Post, the airplane took off at 9:36 a.m. and returned to Panama City for the security check before taking off again shortly after 2 p.m. and eventually landing in Tampa just before 7 p.m.
