Rishi Sunak
PM Rishi Sunak posted a video on X about the UK’s ban of American XL bully dogs. The prime minister claimed in his video that “dogs of this breed are dangerous.” Additionally, he stated that “new laws will be in place by the end of the year” and that “the breed will be banned under the Dangerous Dogs Act.” Netizens quickly responded to his video, with many expressing their displeasure with this statement.
“It is obvious that the American XL Bully dog poses a threat to our neighborhoods. So that we can put an end to these violent attacks and keep people safe, I’ve ordered urgent efforts to characterize and outlaw this breed, Rishi Sunak wrote while uploading the video on X.
He discusses outlawing the breed in the video in light of recent attacks in the neighborhood. He continued, “It is obvious this is not about a few poorly behaved dogs; this is a pattern of behavior, and it cannot continue.”
The video has received more than 1.2 million views since it was shared a few hours ago. While some spoke out against the PM’s choice, others defended the breed. Many others contended that the owners, not the breed, are the problem.
