In an attempt to promote adventure tourism and winter sports in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kishtwar district, officials stated that a snow-skiing event was held at the scenic Sinthan on Sunday.
More than fifty experienced skiers participated in the exciting event, including eager trainees from the Jawahar Institute of Monitoring and Winter Sports, according to the organisers.
They noted that girls made up a sizable portion of the participants, highlighting the rising interest and involvement of women in winter sports. “Kishtwar is a little-known treasure with big potential for winter sports and adventure travel. The event today is proof of our young people’s talent and zeal.
Kishtwar Deputy Commissioner Devansh Yadav stated, “We are committed to providing the necessary infrastructure and support for this purpose. Our goal is to make Kishtwar a renowned destination for winter sports.”
According to the organisers, the snow-skiing competition was an amazing display of ability as competitors skied down Kishtwar’s powder-soft slopes.
They added that witnessing novices and seasoned skiers unite to celebrate their love of winter sports was encouraging.
The snow skiing event was a captivating spectacle, with participants showcasing their skiing skills, and gliding down the snowy slopes of Kishtwar. It was heartening to see both experienced skiers and newcomers come together to celebrate their passion for winter sports.
The success of this event signifies a positive step towards realizing Kishtwar’s potential as a prominent winter sports destination. With the continued support of the District Administration, local authorities, and the enthusiastic participation of the community, Kishtwar is poised to become a hub for adventure tourism and winter sports in the near future.
