See How Dancers Dressed As ‘The Nun’ Join Garba Event, Internet Divided

A video of two people dressed as “The Nun” having a great time on Garba Night has gone viral on the internet. The video, which was posted on X (formerly Twitter), showed the extraordinary moment when dancers dressed as Valak from the horror film “The Nun” joined other individuals in traditional clothing in the colorful Garba dance. The pair attracted the attention of many by doing the Garba steps flawlessly during the event.

The two dancers in the video are dressed like characters from a Hollywood horror movie, with long black robes and head scarves. During the Navratri celebrations, they may be seen showcasing their dance moves on the dance floor. They danced with a number of folks who appeared to be delighted to have them there.

A user hilariously stated, “Product built for Silicon Valley trying to fit into the Indian market,” on X, where they shared the video.

The funny video was widely shared on the microblogging platform, and it generated a wide range of responses from viewers. While some called the video “Halloween Garba” in the comments section, others were angry and criticized the couple for corrupting the custom.

One user added, “Exploring the Intersectionality between Garba and Halloween,” in jest. “This is hilarious,” someone else said. A third person commented, “I hope they won the Best Dressed award.”

One viewer nevertheless described the video as “horrible” and commented, “I’m at a loss for words.” What kind of absurdity is this? Garba is a religious ritual performed in devotion to Maa Durga, the goddess. Thus, carrying out such an action would be blasphemous! Play no tricks with our faith! It’s awful; Maa Durga is so full of life!”
