A video capturing people cooking food on the tracks at Mahim Junction railway station in Mumbai has gained widespread attention on social media. Posted on X (formerly Twitter), the clip reveals individuals preparing meals and even studying between the train tracks, with children running around and people sleeping nearby. The video, garnering over 21,000 views, prompted users to express concern and call for action in the comments.
One user emphasized the danger of the situation, urging authorities to take action, while another humorously remarked, “When your life is on track literally.” Criticism was also directed at railway officials for neglecting such activities on railway premises.
In response, the Divisional Railways Manager (DRM) of Mumbai Central acknowledged the video and instructed Western Railway authorities to address the issue. The Railway Protection Force (RPF) was subsequently directed to take action.
The RPF, responding to the X post, confirmed that their personnel had intervened, removing the individuals engaging in such activities. They also emphasized the need for vigilance to maintain the system’s integrity and prevent unwarranted activities.

The concerned user tagged railway authorities, leading to the DRM of Mumbai Division – Central Railway requesting PNR and train numbers for appropriate action against the staff.
