Google has introduced five new features for its Chrome browser on Android and iOS devices, aiming to enhance the search experience for users.
These updates include new shortcuts for local search results and a revamped address bar for improved navigation.
One of the standout features, “Chrome Actions,” is to help users save time when interacting with local businesses.
For instance, when searching for a restaurant, users will see shortcut buttons in the search results to quickly call the restaurant, get directions, or read reviews.
This feature is now available on Chrome for Android and will rolled out to Chrome on iOS later this fall.
Additionally, Google has updated the Chrome address bar on iPads and Android tablets to better utilize their larger screen sizes.
This change aims to make navigation more intuitive and efficient.
A new shortcut suggestions feature for Chrome on both Android and iOS adds a personalized touch to the address bar, guiding users to websites based on their usual typing patterns.
Users on iOS will now also see trending search suggestions in their Chrome address bar, a feature that has been available on Android.
Live sports cards have been added to Chrome’s Discover Feed on the New Tab page for both iOS and Android users.
These cards provide automatic updates on games, offering real-time information for users who follow specific teams or have shown interest in them in the past.
These updates reflect Google’s ongoing efforts to refine and personalize the browsing experience for Chrome users across different devices.
