Meta, the company behind these platforms, has not yet addressed the global outage, leaving users uncertain about when normal service will resume. WhatsApp, another Meta-owned platform, has not reported any outages so far, but the newly launched rival Threads was also affected. As a result of the outage, users flocked to Elon Musk’s X platform, and hashtags such as #Instagramdown, Facebook, and Mark Zuckerberg began trending on social media, with users sharing memes about the server issue.

This isn’t the first time Meta has faced such a major outage. Last July, Meta platforms, including WhatsApp, experienced a significant outage, which was eventually resolved later in the day. This incident followed a similar outage reported in June of the same year.
