Metro to start working at 4 a.m on 26 January 2024
Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) on Wednesday announced through a post on X that trains will start at 4 a.m on all the lines of metro so that people can reach ‘Kartavya Path’ to attend the Republic Day Parade on 26th Of January. It will aid people of Delhi-NCR to move around and reach the spot to attend the Republic day festivities.

According to DMRC officials, services will run 30 minutes ahead of schedule until 6 a.m., at which point the regular schedule will be adhered to for the remainder of the day.
People with bona fide e-invitation to get special facilites
“People who will be in possession of bona fide e-invitation cards or e-tickets for attending the Republic Day ceremony will be issued coupons on production of government-issued identity cards at stations, which will be valid for exits from Central Secretariat and Udyog Bhawan stations only to reach Kartavya Path,” the official said in a statement. The same card can be used for trips back from these two stations. The officials added that travelers should disembark at Udyog Bhawan if their invitation cards were marked for enclosures 1 through 9 as well as V1 and V2.
“Similarly, those (with invitation cards) marked for enclosures 10 to 24 and VN are advised to deboard at Central Secretariat. Regular announcements will also be made inside the trains to inform passengers about the same so that they deboard at the designated stations in order to reach their enclosures smoothly,” the DMRC said.

DMRC advisory on security check
The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation states that lengthy lines may form at some metro stations as a result of the increased checks, particularly during rush hour. Additionally, the DMRC advised travelers to schedule their travel so that they account for the possibility of lengthy lines at certain metro stations.
“Therefore, passengers are advised to plan their journey accordingly and allow for some additional time for their commute during these days. Passengers are requested to cooperate with the security personnel during security checks,” the DMRC said.
