WhatsApp, a widely used messaging application across the globe, recently introduced a new feature that allows users to edit their sent messages within a 15-minute timeframe. This feature is available on Android, iOS, and WhatsApp Web.
The option to edit sent messages provides users with the ability to correct typos, make necessary changes, and even add additional context to their previously sent messages. The edited message will be displayed in the chat with a label indicating that it has been edited.
WhatsApp ensures users that the edited messages, along with all personal messages, media, and calls, are protected by end-to-end encryption to enhance privacy and security. The app clarifies that edited messages will display the label “edited” to inform recipients of the correction, without revealing the edit history.
WhatsApp emphasizes that users simply need to long-press on a sent message and select “Edit” from the menu within a 15-minute timeframe.
By offering the ability to edit sent messages, WhatsApp aims to enhance user experience and provide a convenient way to correct and improve the content of their messages.
