An official reported that a mechanical issue on Friday morning compelled the railways to switch the rake of the Howrah-New Jalpaiguri Vande Bharat Express with the one used to run Yuva Express, resulting in a one-hour delay.
A portion of the passengers voiced their displeasure at the modification, which destroyed their dreams of riding in the posh Vande Bharat rake equipped with contemporary amenities. They complained that the Yuva Express trip was subpar and lacked the facilities they had paid for.
According to a senior Eastern Railway official, the Vande Bharat rake had to be replaced because of a problem with the undergear.

“The Vande Bharat rake was not found to be fit for running and was replaced by a spare rake, which is used for Yuva Express,” he explained.
He said that this alteration resulted in a one-hour delay in the train’s departure.
Governor CV Ananda Bose, who was en route to Malda to visit with the families of the migrant labourers murdered in the collapse of the Mizoram rail bridge, was one of the passengers on the train.
Sukanta Majumdar, a member of parliament for the BJP, said he will speak with Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, who is due in Kolkata on Friday, and stated that such a technical issue is not anticipated in the premier Vande Bharat Express rake.
The state BJP president, Majumdar, stated, “I will bring the matter to the attention of the railway minister.”
