Banarasi Kachori Takes Over Japanese Sushi As Japan Ambassador Shares Video Of Him Relishing Kachori And Jalebi

For many years, Indian food has been widely recognized on the international scene. Indian cuisine provides an unparalleled array of flavors, scents, textures, and taste experiences. For this reason, when visitors or dignitaries from other countries come to India, they always want to sample the real Indian food. The Japan ambassador to India, Hiroshi Suzuki is one such individual who is frequently spotted savoring Indian cuisine. He posted two movies on Saturday, X, in which he explores Varanasi’s street food scene.

Have a look at the video

He wrote, “Enjoying street food in Varanasi,” as the video’s caption. He can be seen in the videos eating “kachori” and “jalebi” in what looks to be a crowded city road. He said, “I’m enjoying kachori in Varanasi,” then proceeded to sample it and exclaimed, “Very good!”

In the second video, he proclaimed, ”And then I will enjoy jalebi too”.

He had previously posted a photo of himself and his wife, Eiko Suzuki, on X with the caption, “We are in Varanasi.”

Mr. Suzuki applauded by internet

Many online commenters commended Mr. Suzuki for his sincere interest in Indian culture, and many others enjoyed his article. Many also advised him to sample some of the other well-liked menu items. One user wrote, ”This is sweet. I liked how the Ambassador is making efforts to promote India.”

Another commented, ”Try Banarasi paan too. I am sure you will not regret it.”

A third said, ”Sir, we are happy at your gracing the nation’s hospitality.” A fourth added, ”I hope you have an amazing trip with a lot of memories and happiness to remember.” Yet another suggested, ”Taste chats at local shops and malaiyo which is the exclusive dessert of Varanasi.”

This was not the first incident

Notably, the envoy’s love of Indian cuisine has made him a social media star since his arrival in India last year. Videos of the 61-year-old ambassador savoring Indian cuisine have gone viral on several occasions. He discussed North-Eastern cuisine and his experience on X a few days ago.

He posted a video and shared that he had a Naga meal prepared by chef Joel Basumatari. “Enjoyed a wonderful dinner prepared by Nagaland’s star chef Mr. Joel Basumatari. Chef Joel promotes North Eastern cuisine around the world. Wish him great success in the future!!” he wrote in the caption of the X.
