Apple has announced significant updates to its iOS platform aimed at enriching user experience in India.

The latest iOS 18 update introduces a host of features tailored specifically for Indian users, enhancing phone and communication capabilities.

Among the key enhancements, iOS 18 includes support for Indian numerals on the lock screen, allowing users to customize their time display in 12 Indian languages including Arabic Indic, Devanagari, Gujarati, and Telugu.

This feature extends to font color and weight adjustments, empowering users to personalize their devices with greater flexibility.

Live Voicemail Transcription in Indian English and Live Caller ID enhance communication efficiency, while a revamped phone keypad and smart call history search streamline dialing experiences.

A standout feature of iOS 18 is the introduction of a multilingual keyboard.

This feature enables users, particularly on iPhone 12 and later models, to type phonetically with Latin characters in English and up to two additional Indian languages simultaneously.

Integrating this trilingual predictive typing capability into messaging apps and Notes enhances convenience and usability.

Moreover, iOS 18 introduces alphabetical layouts for typing directly in 11 Indian languages, including Bangla, Gurmukhi, Hindi, Marathi, and Tamil.

Apple highlights that these layouts dynamically adjust based on user input, facilitating easier character selection and typing efficiency.

“iOS 18 makes iPhone more personal, capable, and intelligent than ever,” remarked Apple in a statement.

The update also includes enhancements like enhanced language search, multilingual Siri support, and improvements to the Translate and Move to iOS apps.

Additionally, users gain more control over dual SIM functionality.
