An Army of “Zombie” Women Take Over US Streets Ahead of Halloween

A group of women costumed as “zombies” were spotted dancing in Connecticut, US, ahead of Halloween. A video of the flash mob dance was posted on the Good News Movement Instagram page, featuring ladies dressed like zombies dancing to Michael Jackson’s hit song “Thriller” in a rhythmic manner. It turns out that the enjoyment is for more than just Halloween. The group of ladies, who are all moms and refer to themselves as “Mombies,” dances annually to raise money for breast cancer research. This is what they have been doing since 2016.

The caption for the video read, ”MOMBIES! Hundreds of Connecticut “mombies” put on a zombie-themed performance each year to benefit cancer research.
Terry Davis is the creator and founder of the ‘Mombies’. They donate all of the money they generate to The Cancer Couch Foundation in order to support research on metastatic breast cancer. The MOMbies have raised almost $170,000 since launching this project in 2016.

At least fifty mothers of all ages have been rehearsing professionally choreographed dances for forthcoming events in anticipation of the 2023 Halloween season.
Internet people praised the clever project and its important message. A user expressed their desire to become a mother. What fun! “I’d love to do that!” wrote another. What a lovely concept!

“This should probably happen every month in every city in the world,” remarked a third. A fourth said, “Excellent work.” Fantastic synchronization and dancing.” “We are a group of mothers who are transforming from our regular selves into terrifying zombies and marching through the streets to serve a cause bigger than ourselves.” Dancing to raise money for breast cancer research, we put aside our concerns and step beyond our comfort zones. According to the website, “each performance is a fusion of fun, community, and support, creating lasting memories and meaningful contributions to an important cause.”

Imagine our kids’ stunned reactions and the neighbors’ shock as zombies appeared out of bushes, driveways, and the front porch! Trick-or-treating was disturbed as we took over the street, looking eerily enchanting in our homemade costumes. Something considerably bigger was taking shape, though it was unknown at the time. It continues, “The MOMbie Movement was born.”
