Harley Davidson, one the most loved bike manufacturing brands in the world has come up with the most affordable bike in the history of the company. An average Harley – as the fans call the bikes from the company, would cost bike lovers a hefty amount of Rs. 15 Lakhs. But for the very first time, a Harley is out in the market for sale in just Rs. 2.3 lacs. Unbelievable? Yes, but truth indeed.
On Monday, the Milwaukee, Wisconsin-based manufacturer introduced the first item of their joint venture, which also happens to be the most affordable Harley Davidson ever produced. The business has collaborated with Hero Moto Corp, India’s market leader in the two-wheeler field.
The Harley Davidson X440 is a single-cylinder, 440cc motorbike that seeks to directly compete with the 350cc platform of Royal Enfield, the top-selling motorcycle in India’s above-200cc market.
A competitive price of 2.3 lakh and above has been set for the motorcycle, which is only a few thousand rupees more than the top model of the best-selling Royal Enfield Classic 350. In comparison, the Nightster, with prices starting at 17.49 lakh (ex-showroom), is the least expensive Harley currently offered in India.

Three different varieties are available: the base variant “Denim” costs 2.29 lakh, the mid-spec “Vivid” costs 2.49 lakh, and the top-spec trim “S” costs 2.69 lakh. Everything is priced ex-showroom. Instead of the conventional stretched-out cruiser style you’d expect from a Harley, the motorcycle has a throwback street design that was inspired by the Harley XR1200. Its 2-valve, oil-cooled motor produces a class-leading 27 PS of power and 38 NM of torque, and it includes a six-speed gearbox. The firm states that one litre of petrol can travel 25 miles. While the more expensive varieties include alloy wheels and two-tone colour options, the base variant has wire spoked rims.
This Harley sports a KYB 43mm upside-down front suspension, which is in high demand among fans in India, unlike its rival Royal Enfield. From the headlight to the taillight to the indicators, LED lighting is available everywhere. Additionally, the motorcycle boasts a 3.5-inch TFT display with phone connectivity capabilities and a crucial fuel range indication.
