Samajwadi Party : The Opposition Kicks Back

Shivpal Singh Yadav, the founder of the Pragatisheel Samajwadi Party (Lohia), announced a merger with ‘bhatija’ Akhilesh Yadav’s party as a result of Dimple Yadav, a candidate for the Samajwadi Party and a member of the Yadav family, securing a significant victory in the Mainpuri byelection on Thursday.

After Shivpal Singh Yadav received the party flag from Akhilesh Yadav, he made his announcement. Akhilesh Yadav gave his uncle the party flag as they sat side by side in Saifai in the Etawah district.

A little before announcing the merger, Samajwadi Party head Akhilesh Yadav delivered his party’s flag to PSPL founder Shivpal Singh Yadav in Saifai, that plainly indicated the both the parties will join hands.

The Samajwadi Party flag was also placed on Shivpal Singh Yadav’s car by party members, indicating that the two parties had united.
Shivpal Yadav and his nephew Akhilesh Yadav, known as “chacha-bhatija,” joined together despite ups and downs in their relationship to assure Dimple Yadav’s victory in the byelection required after SP founder Mulayam Singh Yadav’s passing.
The SP candidate and wife of Akhilesh, Dimple Yadav, has a sizable lead of more than two lakh votes in the Mainpuri Lok Sabha byelection, according to the most recent Election Commission figures.

They even later shared pictures of the occasion on Twitter.

Workers for the party also placed an SP flag on Shivpal Singh Yadav’s vehicle to symbolize a potential alliance between the two parties. Shivpal Yadav and nephew Akhilesh Yadav worked together despite their relationship’s ups and downs, which political circles are well aware of, to ensure Dimple Yadav, Akhilesh’s wife, won the byelection that was required after SP founder Mulayam Singh Yadav’s passing.
