Minor Died By Sharp Kite String
For years Delhi has been unable to eliminate the use of manjha for flying kites despite the fact that it has cause numerous accidents and deaths in the past.A seven-year-old girl’s throat was slit by a sharp kite manjha, seven people booked for the incident. Reportedly they were using “Chinese Manjha” a glass coated string.
According to deputy commissioner of police (outer) Harendra K Singh, “the seven kite flyers have been charged under sections 94 and 97 of the Delhi Police Act for creating danger and possibly endangering people, animals, or property.”200 kites and 33 rolls of chinese manjha has also been recovered
The actions by delhi police came after the death of the seven-year-old girl on friday in Paschim Vihar after her throat was slit by the manjha while she was on a motorcycle sitting at front with her father. This is the first death caused by kite string this year.

In the central district 10 rolls of coated manjha were seized by police fro Haus Qazi and actions were taken under provisions of Environment Protection Act. Fir has been registered against all sellers.“All DCPs shall make best endeavours to create awareness among target groups, utilise ‘Eyes and Ears’ to ill-effects and illegality of use of Chinese manjha, ensure strict surveillance, and carry out sustained enforcement.” said police commissioner Sanjay Arora, signed by his officer on special duty (OSD) Manishi Chandra, on Thursday
