Delhi-NCR continued to reel under cold and dense fog on Wednesday, as winter conditions disrupted daily life across the national capital.

Several areas reported low visibility during the early morning hours, leading to slow-moving traffic and inconvenience for office-goers and commuters.

The combined effect of cold winds, dense fog and cloudy skies made mornings particularly harsh, with reduced visibility affecting road conditions across major routes and residential areas.

Amid the prevailing weather conditions, Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport issued a passenger advisory confirming that Low Visibility Procedures (LVP) were in force.

In an official statement, Delhi Airport said that while LVPs were operational, flight movements were continuing as scheduled.

Airlines advised passengers to stay in touch for the latest updates, as fog-related delays could still occur despite normal operations.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) said moderate to dense fog is likely to prevail across many parts of Delhi during the morning hours.

The sky is expected to remain partly cloudy through the day, limiting sunshine and prolonging the chill.

The IMD warned that while most areas may see moderate fog, isolated pockets could experience dense fog, especially in the early morning.

The weather department has issued a Yellow Alert for the city due to fog and haze conditions.

Delhi is likely to record a maximum temperature of 21 to 23 degrees Celsius, with the minimum hovering around 9 degrees Celsius.

Over recent days, minimum temperatures have remained below normal, intensifying early morning and night-time cold.

Authorities have advised commuters to drive cautiously, maintain safe distances and take necessary precautions, especially children and the elderly, as cold and foggy conditions are likely to persist in the coming days.
