The India Meteorological Department has forecast light rain or drizzle in Delhi on Tuesday, with cloudy skies and intermittent weather activity expected through the day.
Rain is likely during the afternoon or evening and may be accompanied by thunderstorms and gusty winds, with speeds ranging between 20–30 kmph and gusts up to 40 kmph.
A yellow alert has been issued, cautioning residents about sudden weather changes.
The advisory follows rainfall and strong winds across Delhi and nearby areas on Monday, when the IMD upgraded its alert from yellow to orange as conditions intensified, signalling moderate rain, lightning, and stronger winds.
The IMD said scattered light showers may continue on Tuesday, with mostly cloudy skies and brief sunny spells.
Authorities have advised residents to remain cautious during thunderstorms and strong winds.
Earlier forecasts warned of dust storms, lightning, and winds of up to 60–80 kmph across parts of Haryana and Rajasthan.
A western disturbance over north Iran and the Caspian Sea, along with cyclonic circulation over northwest Rajasthan, is driving the current weather pattern.
Another western disturbance may arrive around April 2 and could bring light rain to Delhi in the coming days.
Rainfall and strong winds are likely to temporarily improve air quality in Delhi by dispersing pollutants.
Air quality often returns to poor levels once the weather system passes.
