Delhi-NCR witnessed pleasant weather on Saturday morning as cloudy skies and lower temperatures brought relief after a prolonged period of hot and humid conditions.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast generally overcast skies with light rain at isolated places during the day, although humidity is likely to remain high.
Weather conditions have become more comfortable over the past few days.
On Friday, light cloud cover and brief spells of drizzle helped bring down the daytime temperature.
Moisture levels in the air continued to make conditions uncomfortable.
According to the IMD, Delhi recorded a maximum temperature of 35 degrees Celsius on Friday, which was 0.6 degrees above the seasonal average.
Safdarjung also recorded 35 degrees Celsius, while Palam registered a maximum of 33.5 degrees Celsius, 1.4 degrees below normal.
For Saturday, the weather department has predicted a maximum temperature of around 33 degrees Celsius and a minimum of about 25 degrees Celsius.
Relative humidity is likely to range between 75 and 95 per cent, with cloudy conditions expected to continue across the National Capital Region.
The IMD has not issued any weather warning for Delhi-NCR.
Similar weather is expected on August 2, with daytime and night-time temperatures likely to remain around 33 degrees Celsius and 25 degrees Celsius, respectively.
The forecast predicts light rain and cloudy skies on August 3 and 4. The minimum temperature will likely gradually fall to 23 degrees Celsius by Monday.
Separately, the IMD has warned of heavy rain and thunderstorms across 19 states, including Delhi, Uttar Pradesh and Bihar.
Strong winds of up to 60 kmph are likely in some areas, while hilly regions could face landslides and isolated hailstorms.
The weather department advised farmers and fishermen to remain alert.
