The India Meteorological Department has warned of thunderstorms, lightning activity, and strong winds in parts of Delhi-NCR through June 25.

The advisory applies to several other states and Union Territories, including Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Uttarakhand, Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat, Chhattisgarh, Tamil Nadu, Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Gangetic West Bengal, and the Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
Meteorologists have projected very heavy rainfall in Assam, Meghalaya, Sikkim, and Sub-Himalayan West Bengal during the next 48 hours.
Weather systems are also likely to bring substantial rainfall to Bihar, Arunachal Pradesh, Odisha, Telangana, Kerala, Goa, Coastal Karnataka, and several northeastern states.
Delhi witnessed temperatures lower than what is typically experienced during late June. The city registered a maximum temperature of 38.4 degrees Celsius on Monday, remaining slightly below the normal level for the season.
For Tuesday, forecasters expect partly cloudy skies, with temperatures likely to fluctuate between 25 degrees Celsius and 40 degrees Celsius.
Strong winds and thunderstorm activity could offer a brief respite from daytime discomfort.
The southwest monsoon has regained pace across Maharashtra after a prolonged slowdown.
Weather officials expect the seasonal rains to cover the remaining parts of the state in the coming days.
Mumbai experienced widespread showers throughout the day, with rainfall reported from several areas, reflecting renewed monsoon momentum across the region.
Air pollution levels in Delhi remained above desirable limits despite the forecast of changing weather conditions. Anand Vihar recorded an AQI reading of 246, placing it in the poor category.
Several other monitoring stations reported moderate pollution levels, including IIT Delhi (166), RK Puram (165), Rohini (163), Pusa (173), Patparganj (154), Sonia Vihar (157), and Wazirpur (185). These readings indicate that air quality remains a significant environmental challenge for the national Capital.
