Vivo has revived its S-series smartphones in India after a gap of six years, marking the return of a lineup that last appeared with the Vivo S1 before the company shifted its focus to the V-series.

The new Vivo S2, inspired by the X300 FE, targets the premium mid-range segment with a focus on battery life, a curved AMOLED display and a durable design. It starts at Rs 39,999 for the 8GB + 128GB variant, while the 8GB + 256GB model is priced at Rs 44,999.

The smartphone is available in Sapphire Blue, Regal Bronze and Silk White.

The handset features a 6.83-inch AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and 3,000 nits peak brightness, offering smooth scrolling, vibrant colours and improved outdoor visibility.

Powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7360-Turbo processor, the Vivo S2 comes with LPDDR4X RAM and UFS 3.1 storage. It runs Android 16-based OriginOS 6 and will receive three years of Android OS upgrades and five years of security updates.

For photography, the smartphone includes a 50MP primary rear camera paired with a 2MP secondary sensor, while a 32MP front camera handles selfies and video calls.

One of its standout features is the 7,050mAh battery, which supports 44W fast charging and is to last well beyond a full day on a single charge.

The Vivo S2 also carries IP68 and IP69 ratings for dust and water resistance, making it one of the more durable options in its segment.

With its premium design, high-refresh-rate AMOLED display, capable selfie camera and large battery, the Vivo S2 aims to appeal to users seeking a feature-rich mid-range smartphone.
