Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy Watch 8 and Watch 8 Classic series have been the subject of widespread speculation.
Now, detailed specifications and European pricing have leaked online, revealing significant upgrades in hardware and features.
The new watches are expected to be officially unveiled alongside the Galaxy Z Fold7 and Z Flip7, with a release slated for late July.
Performance & operating system
Both models will be powered by the new 3nm Exynos W1000 chipset with a 5-core CPU, offering improved performance and efficiency over previous generations.
They will run on Samsung’s One UI 8.0 Watch operating system, promising a smoother and more intuitive user experience.
The watches come with 2 GB RAM and 32 GB of internal storage, providing ample space for apps and media.
Display and design
The Galaxy Watch 8 is rumoured to come in two sizes:
- 40mm Dial: Features a 1.34-inch sAMOLED display with 438×438 pixel resolution, measuring 40.4 x 42.7 x 8.6 mm and weighing 30g. It houses a 325 mAh battery.
- 44mm Dial: Offers a larger 1.47-inch sAMOLED screen at 480×480 pixels, with dimensions of 43.7 x 46 x 8.6 mm and weighing 34g. This model contains a 435 mAh battery.
The Watch 8 Classic will be available in a single size:
- 46mm Dial: Sporting a 1.34-inch sAMOLED display with 438×438 pixels, measuring 46.7 x 46 x 10.6 mm, and weighing 63.5g. It will feature a larger 445 mAh battery.
The Classic model boasts a stainless steel body paired with sapphire glass for enhanced durability and a premium finish.
Samsung expects all displays across the range to deliver 327 pixels per inch (PPI) and a peak brightness of 3000 nits, ensuring excellent visibility even in bright sunlight.
Advanced sensors
Samsung has equipped these smartwatches with a comprehensive suite of sensors, including:
- Accelerometer
- Altimeter
- Gyroscope
- Light Sensor
- Geomagnetic Sensor
- PPG Sensor (Photo-Plethysmographic)
- ECG Sensor (Electrocardiogram)
- BIA Sensor (Bioelectrical Impedance Analysis)
These sensors will provide detailed health and fitness tracking, helping users monitor their well-being with precision.
Expected pricing in Europe
The leaked pricing for the Samsung Galaxy Watch 8 series in Europe starts with the 40mm Bluetooth variant of the Galaxy Watch 8 priced at €379.99 (approximately ₹38,195).
Samsung expects the larger 44mm Galaxy Watch 8 with Bluetooth and 4G connectivity to cost €459.99 (around ₹46,235).
Samsung has listed the premium Galaxy Watch 8 Classic, featuring a 46mm dial with Bluetooth and 4G, at €579.99 (approximately ₹58,295).
Additionally, Samsung has priced the Watch Ultra (2025) model, with a 47mm dial and Bluetooth plus 4G support, at €699.99 (around ₹70,360).
Launch and availability
Samsung will likely reveal the Galaxy Watch 8 series at its Unpacked event scheduled for July.
Samsung will stream the event worldwide and open pre-orders immediately afterwards. The company could officially launch the watches by 23 July
With upgraded processors, enhanced sensors, premium materials, and a sharper display, the Galaxy Watch 8 and Watch 8 Classic are poised to compete strongly in the smartwatch market.
While prices are higher, the features and build quality could justify the investment for tech enthusiasts and health-conscious consumers alike.
