Google Search experienced a widespread outage on Tuesday morning, affecting users across multiple regions, including India and the United States.
During the disruption, several users were unable to access search results, while others faced intermittent issues when trying to use the platform.
Many encountered an error message stating that an ‘internal server error’ had occurred and that engineers were working to fix the issue.
The outage quickly led to a spike in complaints on social media platforms and online service trackers, with users reporting problems from different parts of the world.
The issue was linked to a ‘500 Internal Server Error’, a server-side failure that usually points to technical issues within backend infrastructure rather than problems related to users’ devices or internet connectivity.
Tech experts noted that such errors generally occur when failures in internal systems or overloaded backend processes disrupt communication between web servers and browsers.
The incident added to a growing list of major outages affecting global digital platforms in recent months.
Earlier this year, Chinese AI platform DeepSeek experienced a prolonged disruption that reportedly kept services offline for more than seven hours.
Social media platform Instagram also faced technical problems in March, with users reporting issues related to direct messages, chat themes and search functionality.
In February, YouTube users worldwide experienced service interruptions before the platform later resolved the issue.
The latest outage once again highlighted the growing dependence on large-scale cloud and internet infrastructure services that support millions of users globally.
