Apple’s Biggest iPhone Shake-Up Yet? iPhone 18 Launch May Split In Two

Apple may be preparing to make one of the most significant changes to its iPhone release strategy in more than a decade.

According to multiple reports, the technology giant is considering splitting the launch of its upcoming iPhone 18 lineup into two phases rather than unveiling all models simultaneously.

The reported strategy would see Apple introduce its premium devices, including the iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max, a second-generation iPhone Air and its long-rumoured foldable iPhone, during the traditional autumn launch window in 2026.

The standard iPhone 18 and iPhone 18e could then arrive several months later in spring 2027.

Speculation gained momentum after comments from Lin En-ping, chairman of Apple supplier Largan Precision, who indicated that a major US customer had postponed the launch of a new product until the first quarter of 2027.

A key Apple supplier has reportedly indicated a delayed product launch, signalling what could become Apple’s biggest iPhone launch strategy shift in years.

Apple may split releases to better manage its expanding six-model lineup and sustain consumer interest throughout the year.

Reports suggest the iPhone 18 will feature the A20 chip and C2 modem, while Pro models could introduce a 2nm A20 Pro chip, a refined Dynamic Island and advanced camera upgrades.

Apple may also improve 5G connectivity, satellite features and battery life, particularly in the Pro Max variant.

The highlight of the lineup could be Apple’s first foldable iPhone, which may compete with premium foldable smartphones and mark a major shift in the company’s iPhone strategy.
