Several iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max users have reportedly encountered an unusual static or crackling noise coming from their device speakers.
MacRumours reported that multiple users described the sound as resembling ‘an old radio’, particularly when they played audio and turned the volume down.
Notably, some users claim that the static noise becomes audible even when no media is playing. Others have reported hearing a low hiss or crackle while scrolling through webpages, especially when the handset is connected to a charger.
The issue appears to occur across different charging methods, including Apple’s official wired chargers as well as MagSafe accessories.
Affected users have further stated that disconnecting the iPhone from the charger immediately stops the noise, suggesting a possible link between charging and the audio interference.
However, the problem seems persistent for some, as MacRumours noted that a few users continued to experience the issue even after exchanging their devices for new units.
A Reddit user reported that Apple has referred the issue directly to its engineering team for resolution. While Apple has not issued an official statement so far, reports suggest that the Cupertino-based tech giant is actively working on a fix.
In separate developments, reports indicate that Apple may adjust its long-standing iPhone launch cycle for the 2026 lineup.
Traditionally, Apple unveils its new iPhone models in September each year. However, the affordable variant of the iPhone 18 series could reportedly arrive earlier than expected.
iPhone 18 Could Launch in Spring 2026
According to industry reports, Apple may launch the iPhone 18 in Spring 2026, months ahead of its usual schedule.
Apple is expected to power the device with its next-generation A20 chipset and deliver improved camera performance along with better battery life.
On the design front, rumours suggest that the iPhone 18 models may relocate the front camera to the top-left corner of the display.
Additionally, Apple is exploring under-display Face ID technology, which would significantly reduce the size of visible sensors and provide users with a larger usable screen area.
Apple will retain the 48MP main and ultra-wide camera sensors from current models in the iPhone 18 for photography. However, these sensors may receive enhancements through improved image processing, potentially delivering better photo quality without major hardware changes.
