5G speed to Apple
Apple: In anticipation of its support for 5G cellular, Apple has begun handing out the iOS 16.2 update to eligible iPhone owners.
In India, customers of the new iPhone 14, iPhone 13, iPhone SE, and iPhone 12 models may now access 5G cellular service through Airtel and Jio 5G services thanks to the release of iOS 16.2, the firm announced.
Bharti Airtel and Reliance Jio are only two of the telecom companies that have increased their 5G coverage since the debut of the services on October 1.
The majority of Android phone owners have begun receiving updates from their OEMs, while only iOS 16.2 beta users have access to the 5G network on Apple devices.
The Cupertino-major names Airtel and Reliance Jio as its “carrier partners” in India. It previously disclosed that it is collaborating with carrier partners in India to provide iPhone consumers with the finest 5G experience.
Along with compatibility for 5G cellular networks, iOS 16.2 adds a number of new features, such as Apple Music Sing, a new home app design, the ability to turn off wallpaper and notifications for always-on displays, a lock screen sleep widget, AirTag alerts, quiet Siri replies, and more.
In the iOS 16 Beta software programme last month, Apple enabled 5G in India for a small number of iPhone users in the nation as an experiment.
A select few customers with Airtel and Reliance Jio connections are permitted to test the 5G network.
Users must upgrade their smartphone to iOS 16.2, according to the firm.
iPhone customers will benefit from “super-fast downloads and uploads, improved streaming, and real-time connectivity with 5G to let people keep in contact, share, and enjoy the content,” according to Apple.
