Bharti Airtel has announced a major milestone in its fight against cybercrime, revealing that its AI-based fraud detection system has protected over 3.5 million users in the Delhi-NCR region from digital fraud attempts.
This development comes just 43 days after the company rolled out the system nationwide, a move aimed at countering the growing threat of phishing and scam messages.
“In the last 43 days of the launch, Airtel has blocked more than 1,88,000 malicious links and shielded 106 million users across the country,” the company said in a statement on Thursday.
The automated fraud detection system is available by default to all Airtel mobile and broadband subscribers. It operates silently across platforms, including SMS, WhatsApp, Telegram, Facebook, Instagram, email, and web browsers, scanning more than 1 billion URLs every day.
It uses real-time threat intelligence and is capable of blocking malicious websites in under 100 milliseconds, offering seamless protection without the need for user intervention.

By incorporating our network with an AI-driven fraud detection solution, we guarantee that our customers are protected from all new threats without requiring any action on their part,” stated Nidhi Lauria, CEO – Delhi-NCR and Uttar Pradesh (West), Bharti Airtel.
Lauria further added, “We consider it crucial to act now to secure the digital environment of tomorrow, and we take pride in being at the forefront of this initiative by providing a safer and more comprehensive network for our customers in Delhi-NCR.”
Tackling growing cyber threats
The rise of cyber frauds such as phishing scams, fake delivery messages, and bogus banking alerts has created new challenges, especially for vulnerable groups like seniors, students, homemakers, and first-time smartphone users.
Airtel’s AI solution not only scans suspicious links but also issues real-time alerts in the user’s preferred language, including Hindi, enhancing accessibility across user demographics.
The company offers the system completely free of cost, requiring no downloads or manual setup, and aims to build a more secure digital experience for all its users.
