Surendra Koli

Surendra Koli, who was acquitted by the Supreme Court in the final Nithari killings case in 2025, died by suicide at a tea stall in Haridwar.

In a landmark verdict, the Supreme Court provided significant relief to Surendra Koli, an accused in the infamous Nithari killings, by rejecting the CBI’s appeal against his acquittal.

The Supreme Court criticized the CBI and UP government for seeking to delay the hearing on Surendra Koli's acquittal in the Nithari case.

The Allahabad High Court had earlier reversed the death sentences of Koli in twelve cases and Maninder Singh Pandher in two cases

The CBI, which investigated the Nithari case involving charges of murder, kidnapping, rape, and destruction of evidence against Koli.
