Shivkumar, seven-time MLA, has won again from Kanakapura with an unprecedented margin whereas Siddaramaiah too has managed to grab his seat in Varuna with good numbers.

The former Prime Minister H D Deve Gowda-led Janata Dal is leading in 30 segments, and others in 5 seats. BJP leader and Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai (Shiggaon) and Congress State unit President D K Shivakumar (Kanakapura) were leading in their respective seats. 

Siddaramaiah had sought the BJP government at the Centre to immediately open diplomatic discussions, reach out to international agencies to ensure the well-being of Hakki-Pikkis

Former chief minister Siddaramaiah is running for the Varuna seat in Mysuru, which is currently held by his son Yathindra
