At SEMICON India 2026, PM Modi highlighted India’s 7.8% growth, semiconductor expansion, fintech progress and dedicated freight corridors.

The Rs 1.27 lakh crore Semicon 2.0 programme could catalyse more than Rs 5 lakh crore in investment over five to seven years, IESA said.

PM Modi will inaugurate SEMICON India 2026 on September 17 as India strengthens its semiconductor ecosystem with global industry participation.

The Union Cabinet approved the Rs 1.27 lakh crore Semicon 2.0 scheme to strengthen India's semiconductor design, manufacturing and innovation ecosystem.
