Aman Sehrawat delivered a powerhouse performance to clinch a bronze medal in the men’s 57 kg freestyle wrestling category.

Sakshi Malik and Bajrang Punia have expressed their profound sadness following the retirement announcement of wrestler Vinesh Phogat.

Expressing her dismay at the response of these legendary sports stars, Malik stated that although both had assured their support to the wrestlers, they failed to take any action to address the issues.

"Whatever has to be done with regards to wrestling in India, it has to be done by the newly elected body," Brij Bhushan told.

On Sunday, the Union Sports Ministry dragged the wrestling organization and all of its office holders up.

Congress leader Vijender Singh says, “The sports industry is upset with it (wrestler Sakshi Malik’s retirement). We will go to every player, every stadium and every ‘akhada’ and speak to them about women safety, the employment of the athletes and we will stand with them.”

Olympic medallist Sakshee Malikkh, a vocal critic of the former chief, has declared her resignation from the sport in response to this outcome.

Six weight categories, including the classes of Bajrang (65 kg) and Vinesh (53 kg), will have trials in all three formats. Winners in those two categories, however, will be listed as reserves.
