A high-level inquiry committee has been formed to investigate the incident, with a comprehensive report expected soon.

On December 13, two people jumped from the visitors' gallery into the Lok Sabha chamber, releasing yellow smoke canisters.

Their suspension resulted from holding placards and demanding a detailed response from the Home Minister regarding a recent security breach.

After the incident, the security of Parliament has been further tightened. Only MPs are being given entry at Makar Dwar. 

The police have so far arrested 5 people in connection with the security lapse in Parliament. This also includes a girl whose name is Neelam. 

According to police sources who spoke with media, Lalit Jha, one of the four accused in the Parliament security breach case, emailed a video of the incident to his NGO partner after it happened.

Nirmala Sitharaman, the Union Finance Minister, is scheduled to introduce the Appropriation (No.3) Bill, 2023 in the Rajya Sabha today.

On request from Lok Sabha Secretariat, MHA has ordered an Enquiry into parliament security breach incident. An Enquiry Committee has been set up under Shri Anish Dayal Singh, DG, CRPF, with members from other security agencies and experts.
