Parliament

The impromptu skit, captured by Congress MP Rahul Gandhi, unfolded amidst protests over the suspension of 141 MPs due to a security breach in parliament.

On Monday, a total of 78 opposition members of parliament were suspended from both houses, bringing the number of suspended members to 92 since December 15.

During the solemn proceedings commemorating the anniversary of a terrorist attack on Parliament, two individuals breached security and leaped into the assembly area.

A high-level inquiry committee has been formed to investigate the incident, with a comprehensive report expected soon.

On December 13, two people jumped from the visitors' gallery into the Lok Sabha chamber, releasing yellow smoke canisters.

Their suspension resulted from holding placards and demanding a detailed response from the Home Minister regarding a recent security breach.

The intrusion on the anniversary of the 2001 terrorist attack on Parliament sparked questions about laxity in security.

After the incident, the security of Parliament has been further tightened. Only MPs are being given entry at Makar Dwar.

The police have so far arrested 5 people in connection with the security lapse in Parliament. This also includes a girl whose name is Neelam.

According to police sources who spoke with media, Lalit Jha, one of the four accused in the Parliament security breach case, emailed a video of the incident to his NGO partner after it happened.
