Two key suspects in the bomb blast case were eventually arrested in East Midnapore district, following due legal procedures, the NIA asserted.

During a raid related to a 2022 bomb blast case, a NIA team was assaulted in Bengal's East Medinipur district on Saturday.

The court had on March 11 issued a bailable warrant against the Bhopal MP for failing to attend the proceedings despite being specifically directed.

Investigation Agency (NIA) has already charged all 11 people involved in the investigation, which was filed last year.

According to police sources, Shabir is thought to be a prime suspect's accomplice. The prime suspect was captured on security camera footage shortly before the explosion leaving a bag at the cafe.

BJP has not made Sadhvi Pragya a candidate from Bhopal for the Lok Sabha elections 2024, sources said.

The anti-terror agency promised to keep the identity of the informant private in a statement.

According to NIA, a figure linked to several previous blast incidents, had established contact with the other accused while they were incarcerated together in Bengaluru prison in 2017.

Despite evading authorities for years and relocating to different countries, Niyazi's luck ran out as the Gujarat Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) took the lead in tracking his movements.

During these extensive searches, the NIA seized significant evidence, including incriminating documents and literature associated with the banned CPI (Maoist) group.
